Hi.

Welcome to TheStyleofFaith! I share my thoughts on Faith, Fashion and Food -would love if you could join me on this beautiful journey.

Blessings in the Battle

Blessings in the Battle

Ever felt like you're experiencing attacks in every direction, that you're overwhelmed, discouraged and snowed under? You can't help but feel like what you see before you, is nothing like what God has shown you?

I am someone who has always fallen back on logic when something doesn't make sense. I would and still do rationalise why I should feel burnt out or unequipped or why God's promise just won't come to pass.

I would say 'you need to socialise more or work at being better or stop believing in the impossible'. But somehow just when I wanted to give up, God would just bring a blessing my way that I didn't expect.

Whether it be an encouraging message, an extension on a deadline or something as simple as beautiful weather on my day off.

To someone else is may seem like nothing but to you it's exactly what you needed to keep going. It's in these moments where I just know God is just looking down going 'I told you, I've got this'.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
Mark 10:27

I'm learning that it can be so easy to get 'tunnel vision' and think 'I've just got to get by' or 'everything will be better once I get through this'.

BUT by doing this we can miss God moving right where we are! I know they may not be the 'big promotions' or 'healings' you were waiting on. But what if we learnt to celebrate those 'more flexible hours' or a 'pain-free day'?

What if we learnt to celebrate that last bit of petrol getting you to work or church? Or when it suddenly stopped raining when you forgot your umbrella?

Instead of thinking this battle with your mind, with your heart, with your calling has been created to trip you - what if it was placed to catapult you?

What if this was the very place where God knew you would have the most impact? It's time to start viewing opposition as opportunity!

'And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.'
2 Corinthians 9:8

I can't tell you how many times when I was younger I thought I had to be in a leadership position to lead people! Or I thought I had to be on stage to have an impact! I promise that couldn't be further from the truth.

If you need some confirmation - just look at the story of Joseph. He was in prison, which couldn't have been more limiting, yet he took the opportunity God had given him to interpret the dreams of the fellow prisoners. Then look where God took him and how he was used for God's glory!

Stop looking at the position God has given you from a defeated perspective! I know you can feel hopeless and overlooked. But don't run away from the fight because you’re scared to be vulnerable or fail.

It's time to lay down all your preconceptions about how you think God is going to use you, forget what the world says or even what history shows.

Don't confuse your lack of weapons with God's lack of power. Everything that you've been given in the natural is only for your benefit NOT for his.

Remember the battle may seem lost in the natural but it's already been won in the supernatural.

So stop focussing your attention on the battle and fix your eyes on the blessings and opportunities God is giving you along the way.

They are just little glimpses into the incredible things God has planned and he has totally got 'this'.

'Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfil his promises to her!'
Luke 1:45
