Hi.

Welcome to TheStyleofFaith! I share my thoughts on Faith, Fashion and Food -would love if you could join me on this beautiful journey.

The Promise Still Stands

The Promise Still Stands

Ever felt like God was playing a bit of a joke on you? That he somehow thought you were going to just take his word for something that actually seemed impossible?

That word he gave you before all this happened seems even farther away. The silence just appears to be getting louder and you're just crying out 'Lord I need another word from you!'

In this time it seems like every christian, preacher, and prophet is posting word after word and here you are getting nothing from God.

It can feel like you’re hidden away from all the places and people who would usually find God in and you're wondering 'How do I hear from God?'

I've really been praying about how to answer this question for you friends. Ultimately it's really something that God has designed for only you to uncover the answer to.

Just like the way you communicate with one friend in comparison to your parents is different and unique, so is the way God wants to communicate with you. In a personal way that meets you where you are at.

But I also believe that aside from that God really gave me this word to give to you today.

Stop looking for a new word and look again at the one he's already given you.

I don’t know who I'm speaking to but God is saying that he wants to give you greater revelation for the words he's already given you.

In looking for a new word, you're actually denying the one God gave you before the natural circumstances changed.

You're acting as if because the circumstance changed the word suddenly became void. But maybe your revelation of the outworking of the word was wrong?

This may be coming across strong friends, but I really believe that God is renewing our minds so that we can more fully grasp just how powerful God is.

I believe that it's only during this time where we have been confronted with man's limitations, that we're realizing how many of those we've placed onto God.

He's telling us - stop looking for me at church when you can find me in your bedroom. Who told you I can’t bring you provision through other avenues? Who told you I can't accelerate breakthrough when everything in the natural is at a standstill?

It's when I've begun to look back at words, promises, dreams, and visions God gave me a couple of months ago that I realize that the word actually hasn't changed but my revelation of how it was going to be outworked has been challenged.

So how to hear God in this season?

  • Look for his footprints in places you thought you would never find him.

  • Stop waiting for the natural limitations to be removed for God to move.

  • Revive all those promises you've made void and seek fresh revelation.

The natural's changed but the promise still stands friends.

Here are some verses that have just reminded me of God's unchanging nature during this season.

  • Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

  • Isaiah 55:8-9

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
    declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

  • Isaiah 55:11

…so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

  • Psalms 37:4-5

    Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
    Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this.

  • Numbers 23:19-20

God is not human, that he should lie,
not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill?
    I have received a command to bless;
he has blessed, and I cannot change it.

Pray that this blesses and encourages you!
