Jun 11 It's not a coincidence...

I've often caught myself realising just how purposeful God is.

You know when all those 'random' events or encounters couldn't have been better orchestrated if you tried? And somehow you still end up amazed at how God totally planned everything so perfectly?

It's not a coincidence. That when you walk into a situation where you should feel unqualified or out of place, you actually feel at home.

That a person you just met randomly ends up being a total 'God connection'. That your combination of skills and gifts is exactly what people have been looking for.

It's by God's design not by accident friends.

'He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time…'
2 Timothy 1:9

It's time to acknowledge God's intention in the every day. In every moment God wants to use you but will you pay attention even when it seems mundane?

I constantly have to remind myself to pay attention to the little things, from where I sit on the train, to how I respond when my schedule suddenly changes.

Instead of seeing these everyday things as inconveniences or 'random occurrences' why don’t you ask God to reveal to you his intention behind them?

‘You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.’
Proverbs 19:21

We often minimise the very things God is using to try and get our attention.

You know all those times you've prayed for a sign and yet as soon as God gives you one, you reason that it 'wasn’t obvious enough'.

But God is all about the details just as much as he is about the big stuff friends.

God is the ultimate strategist, he is over everything and he never makes the wrong 'call'.

He know exactly what needs to be in place before he gives us a position. He's already set aside the resources we need before we even realise what we're lacking.

How amazing is God?! He is never forgetful, he never gets complacent or burnt out, he's never disorganised or makes mistakes…oh wait that's us!

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55: 8-9

I’m so thankful that this is the way it is. That God so cares for us and nothing he does is ever a coincidence.

So friends let's make sure our perspective is reflective of God’s nature. Let's pray for a heavenly perspective on our everyday circumstances.
