Jan 25 Planning with Purpose.

What the purpose behind your plan friends?

It’s so important to constantly ask ourselves why we are making a decision.

We can make plans, we can have goals but is God a factor in the equation? This year shouldn't just be about improving us, bettering ourselves for our own good but it should be for God's glory.

If the purpose of achieving a goal is for more recognition, more praise or a greater position then our emotions and efforts are always going to be based on the immediate reaction we get from our performance.

If you’re feeling those emotional highs and lows all the time you need to revaluate, where are getting your confidence from? Who are you doing this for?

Let this be the year that we focus on doing everything for God, so that what he wants becomes what we want.

When we realise that God dreams for us are so much greater than what we could do on our own. When we realise that God opinion is the only one that truly counts.

Our choices become less about us and our immediate gratification and more about honouring the part God has given us in his incredible plan.

'And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.'
Colossians 3:17

Instead of just striving to get a good paying job, let's pray about where God would want to use us and let’s sow into the kingdom no matter our position.

Instead of me just writing and trying to grow this blog because I want more followers, I humble myself before God and let him remind me that it always about the one. The one person who could get to experience and receive a revelation from God through my obedience.

When you realise that people's praises, a status or position is never going to satisfy, you understand that God truly is the only source we need. That when we lay down our lives for him, we actually gain everything.

'If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.'
Matthew 10:39

When you fix your eyes on Jesus, when you humble yourself and let him guide you, you'll realise just how well he knows you.

You'll find yourself doing things that you totally didn't realise you loved or were good at. You'll find yourself perfectly positioned for influence and impact.

But the difference is that you never had to prove yourself to anyone, you weren’t seeking out praise from people because you know that your life has such a greater purpose than just for your own benefit.

I started this blog 6 months ago and honestly I had no idea how much I would end up loving it. I had no idea that I could use my gifts of writing and speaking in this way but God did.

So whenever I have doubt or opposition I know it’s so going to be worth it because God will get the glory he deserves.

So let’s shift our focus back on to God. And lets make sure our purpose behind everything we do is for God to get the glory.
