Hi.

Welcome to TheStyleofFaith! I share my thoughts on Faith, Fashion and Food -would love if you could join me on this beautiful journey.

The Breaking Point.

The Breaking Point.

Ever felt like you're just about to break, you're tired, weary and spent…you feel as though you're almost at the finish line, but you don't know if you can hold out that little longer to see the promise come to pass?

This last 2 months I have never been so challenged, pressed and pushed so far out of my comfort zone and I just couldn't see the supernatural things God had shown me coming to pass. I didn't know if I was crazy for still believing and dreaming or just being faithful. I knew 'in theory' that everything would be OK but I was so frustrated that it felt like everything was outside my control!

I remember specifically over about 2 weeks, nearly every other day I was at church and yet I would spend the hour long car ride home literally crying out to God for answers.

I could feel him filling me with all these visions and dreams in the supernatural but I COULDN’T SEE IT! I couldn't understand how or when they would come to pass. I was discontent and discouraged. I was at my Breaking Point.

I knew in my spirit that I was on the edge of the promise but everywhere I turned it seemed that it was all impossible. The devil so wanted me to turn back on the promise because he so wants us to give up and lose hope!

In that short period of time, I seemed to get attacked from every side in every area I was most vulnerable! The devil wanted to catch me off-guard, throw me off balance and shift my focus off God!

BUT in the midst of these attacks, I had to declare the power of God! I had to speak life over my life, I had to refuse to let doubt, fear, insecurity or resentment foster in my spirit! I had to refuse to buy into the lies of the enemy and instead come into agreement with the words God had spoken over me!

We have to realize that it's at our breaking point that the breakthrough occurs! It's in our broken mess, when we have completely emptied ourselves of everything else, that God will truly see where our heart is at. Are we committed to the cause? Do we have faith in the promise, even when we can’t see it in the natural?

This reminds me a lot of the women who poured the alabaster jar of expensive perfume over Jesus, just before he was about to be captured and nailed to the cross.

In Mark 14: 3 it says 'She broke open the jar and poured the perfume over his head'. She literally emptied herself of everything she had and poured it out on Jesus. Yes, it meant she had to be so vulnerable, courageous and selfless but this is what Jesus said after the disciples started ridiculing her;

'Leave her alone. Why criticize her for doing such a good thing to me? You will always have the poor among you, and you can help them whenever you want to. But you will not always have me. She has done what she could and has anointed my body for burial ahead of time. I tell you the truth, wherever the Good News is preached throughout the world, this woman’s deed will be remembered and discussed.'
Mark 14: 6-9

In society today, we want everything to be instantaneous but the promises that God has given us hold way too much value for God to just give them to us 'on a whim'! God isn't looking for you to have everything together either, he says;

“If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?'
Matthew 16:24

It's often at our breaking point - when we can't rely on ourselves any more or when we run out of answers - that we give God room to breakthrough and get the glory! So it's time to give up your way of doing things, stop complaining and sitting in discouragement and declare the power of God!

Stop looking with your natural eyes and start asking God to give you his heavenly perspective! God is with you and he has so much more faith in you, than you do in yourself!!

DON'T GIVE UP or turn back - keep walking towards the promise! Align both your words and your actions with God's word over you and the breakthrough will come!
