Hi.

Welcome to TheStyleofFaith! I share my thoughts on Faith, Fashion and Food -would love if you could join me on this beautiful journey.

The Fight of Faith

The Fight of Faith

‘Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.’
Romans 18:20-21

It’s time to get up. Out of your broken spirit, your depression and stress. I know it’s so much easier to hide. To run away from the promise. To stop showing up.

I can’t tell you how many times it’s literally taken everything just to show up. Over and over thoughts would creep in telling me to turn back, that no one would miss me, that God would forgive me. And you know what, it’s always to the very places I know God has called me.

To everyone else, it seems like a given that you’ll be serving, leading and working in your gifting and yet every day you doubt your value.

It’s always so much easier to encourage others, to see just how God is using them…yet often we can be blind to what God is doing through us.

I’m learning it’s all about our mindsets. Faith isn’t just enacted through behaviour and speech, it is initiated by our thought process.

The fight of faith is in discerning thoughts that come against the word God has spoken over us. As soon as we come into agreement with a doubt-filled thought, it becomes an uphill battle back to faith.

It’s like opening a gate in our mind for the devil to just walk right through. It’s in that moment we start to question everything and lose sight of the vision.

‘We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.’
2 Corinthians 10:5

I know it’s in my desire to be soft hearted towards God, that the devil uses to disarm me and attack me. I forget to take captive every thought and filter it through Gods view of me.

It’s only when I find myself struggling to have faith that I realise what I’ve allowed to govern me. But it’s time to deal with the root. To fight back, to have that childlike faith again.

‘It is the same with my word.
I send it out, and it always produces fruit.
It will accomplish all I want it to,
and it will prosper everywhere I send it.’
Isaiah 55:11

We need to stop making excuses, allowing ‘plausible’ reasons to convince us there is an alternative. God plan is the ONLY plan and it WILL happen.

‘Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.’
Mark 10:27

So we need to make sure the armour of God is firmly attached to us. To make sure our mindset aligns with Gods and declare his promises over us until they do.

Stop moderating your faith by logic.  Stop disqualifying yourself. Insecurity has no place here friends.

If you want to impact this world, bring a generation to God you need to fight to have faith everyday.

‘Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.’
Romans 5:2

You need to elevate your perspective and to see the potential that God sees in you! Trust me, that is so much easier to do when you have a steadfast mind and spirit.

Once your mind is filled with words, visions and dreams that come from God, you can so easily have faith that God can do the impossible.

More than ever before do we have to be so conscious of what we allow to influence our minds. So let’s ask God to renew and strengthen our minds so that in every season we can stand firm in our faith.

Let’s be relentless in our pursuit of the miraculous. Let’s not settle for second best friends.
