Value in your Vulnerability
Have you ever found that often it's in your weakest, most vulnerable moments that God uses to bring the greatest breakthrough?
When you feel worthless and hopeless and yet somehow that just makes God's grace all the more evident to others?
It's always so surprising to me because right at that moment all I want to do is hide and run away from the calling on my life. I want to give up and quit because I feel like that proves I'm underserving to be used by him.
‘We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.’
2 Corinthians 4:7 (NLT)
There is such value in your vulnerability friend. It is so much more powerful than anything we can pretend to be.
When we honour what God has brought us through, when we disclose our struggles and imperfections we break off shame and condemnation.
When we stop putting up a wall up, we instead can build a bridge so that us and others facing similar challenges can cross it together.
We need to learn to disarm ourselves so that God can cover us. It seem counter-intuitive to allow others to see us in our brokenness but when we understand that in our weakness God's power is made perfect, we don’t need to be afraid.
‘I came to you in weakness—timid and trembling. And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit.’
1 Corinthians 2:3-4 (NLT)
We can stand firm on the truth that despite our fears, concerns and challenges - God will not fail us.
But if we never acknowledge the trial than the testimony loses it's value. If we discount the valley than the mountaintop seems easy. But what is the victory without the battle friends?
It's the things that often seem insignificant to others that hold the most value to me when I know what it cost to get there.
You may feel battered and bruised but hold your head up high. Share your journey because you can rest assured that 'all things will work together for your good' (Rom 8:28).
One day you'll look back and realise that those struggles you thought were pointless, those gifts you thought were worthless - you now hold the key to release breakthrough for others because of it.
People are going to search you out not for what you pretend to be but for who God has created you to be.
So would you let down your guard and let the beauty of God’s grace shine through?
‘My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness.’
2 Corinthians 12:9 (AMP)
