Hi.

Welcome to TheStyleofFaith! I share my thoughts on Faith, Fashion and Food -would love if you could join me on this beautiful journey.

Activating the Release

Activating the Release

I've been learning that just before the blessing comes the greatest attack.

For the longest time I've struggled to understand why there is resistance right before the breakthrough occurs.

It's so easy to start questioning if you heard God correctly when it almost seems like you're going backward not forwards into the promise.

But God’s been teaching me what is required before the release can happen.

He gave me this revelation that for something to be propelled it needs to be stretched back. There needs to be resistance in order for momentum to be created.

If you think about a catapult the greater the tension, the greater the distance the object will go.

So we need to stop being discouraged by the resistance but instead see it as indicative of how far God wants to take us.

‘For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.’
James 1:3

I know a lot of us have experienced attack coming into this new year and often in the very areas God said that he would bless.

It then seems counter-intuitive to believe that God would then accelerate us in these areas - but isn't that exactly what happens to a catapult?

After it is pulled back it is then launched at an accelerated rate and often no one even sees it coming.

I'm declaring friends that God would surprise you with unexpected momentum in every area that you've felt stuck in!

That like a catapult he is going to release you into unknown territory!

But it has to happen in God’s timing. Often this is very different to ours but it's always perfect friends. So we need to trust that God will launch us at the correct time.

When I was doing some research, I found that even a catapult has a perfect launch angle (45 degrees) that will ensure it goes the furthest distance possible.

If it is released too early it will go high but will then come crashing down quickly.

If it is released too late it will be pulled down to the ground because it doesn't have enough height.

Isn't that such a perfect picture of how life can go when we do things on our own terms?

The timing can seem so insignificant to us but it is actually so vital to our success!

I know I don’t want to miss anything God has for me - so I need to trust that he will activate my release at the perfect time!

I love how this verse puts it:

“When the time’s ripe, I answer you.
When victory’s due, I help you.’
Isaiah 49:8

Most importantly in order to be successfully propelled you need a strong foundation.

Any movement, any cracks in the base can reduce the amount of power behind the launch.

‘As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.’
Luke 6:47-48

So lets make sure we are building everything on the firm foundation of God's word.

Remind yourself of God's promises when the process is hard. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus when you're getting distracted by the resistance.

The tension, the timing and the foundation may feel so inconvenient but with God you can and will go the distance.

With God I promise he'll activate your release when the time is right.
