Are you standing firm on the rock of the Lord, the security of his word and truth of his promises? Or are you being swayed by the appealing nature of the world's promises and opportunities? Your position is so important and that is why the devil is so keen on side-tracking you, taking you on so-called short cuts and derailing your God dreams.

If you ever want to know what someone's position is you look at the way they carry themselves. You know that someone is the CEO because their posture is one of authority and certainty. As long as their posture remains like that, no one can take their position. Only when they begin to question their position and their authority does their position change.

2 Chronicles 20:17
But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged.

You see this in the Bible where the devil tempted Jesus in the wilderness. Jesus was so much more powerful than the devil -no question- but the devil knew that if he could get Jesus to change his posture then so much of what he wasn’t entitled to could be his.

Do you know the authority you have? Do you know who your Heavenly Father is? If you understand your position then you understand the power you have!

You will not give in when someone offers you a certain pay when you know you are worth more! Just in the same way as in the parable the long-lost son's position was secured in his Father's house, your position as a son or daughter of the Most High is certain!!!

Ephesians 6:10-11
Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armour so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

So don’t be swayed when the devil says 'did God really say?' or 'God didn’t really give you that gift!'. Because when God's word is send out, it will never come back void and it will always produce fruit! There will always be people that don’t understand where God has placed you, often we do not understand God's timing either but without fail God has always proven to be faithful.

When I was in my last year of High School, I still honestly did not know what I would study when I finished. I had thoroughly researched all the courses I though I would be interested in and believed that one of these would be right for me.

Most of these courses were taught at one particular University -so I went to their open day expecting for all my problems to be solved. Yet one information session after another, illustrated how wrong these courses were for me. Needless to say I was so frustrated.

That next weekend I had one course left to look at, at a Uni in the city and whilst the course was interesting - I felt like it was still second best. But while we had been looking at this uni, my mum had seen that RMIT University just down the road was having their open day as well. She had spent the morning convincing me to go and just see what they had available but I was quite reluctant as I had been there before and did not like it. BUT God had placed me in position where I could not help but go - 'it was only a 5 minute walk from here after all'.

Once we got there, I quickly scanned the information sessions available and saw a course I had briefly looked up earlier in the week had a session in 10 minutes. No word of a lie, Mum and I argued the whole walk there -I had run out of my own plans and didn’t have much longer to make a decision. All that was left was to trust God.

Of course within 5 minutes of the information session, I knew that this course was specifically tailored to me. It combined all the areas I was interested in -law, sociology, dispute resolution, intercultural studies -it was literally as if God was going 'see I was listening - I know your heart's desires!'.

If that information session wasn’t enough - I know now looking back that all of those setbacks, were just setups for God to move me right into the perfect position to receive the revelation and the blessing.

Now I had to be willing to trust God, his timing, his plan - I had to know that God's best for me wasn’t second-best, it wasn’t just kind of what I hoped for - it was everything I could have dreamt of.

Just with anything we can’t just go from crawling to running a marathon in an instance. There are going to be positions that you have to stand in for a season that are not always going to be fun. Were there times after God gave me that revelation, that I wished I could go back in time and tell myself what course I was going to do? YES! But then would I have had that testimony of his faithfulness? NO!

It's going to be a journey, but trust that at every stage -if you let God led you- he will position you perfectly to learn and grow in the area that you need to be equipped in. It is then up to you to retain the correct posture whilst you are standing in that position.
