Hi.

Welcome to TheStyleofFaith! I share my thoughts on Faith, Fashion and Food -would love if you could join me on this beautiful journey.

Shift don’t settle.

Shift don’t settle.

‘The Spirit of God whets our appetite by giving us a taste of what's ahead. He puts a little of heaven in our hearts so that we'll never settle for less. That's why we live with such good cheer. You won't see us drooping our heads or dragging our feet! Cramped conditions here don't get us down. They only remind us of the spacious living conditions ahead. It's what we trust in but don't yet see that keeps us going.’
2 Corinthians 5:5-15

The time has come for us to stop settling for what we believe we deserve; a cut down version of the dreams God has placed on our hearts.

STOP believing what the devil says you will amount to! All because where you are now, used to be where God planted you, doesn’t mean it won't be what the devil will use to sink you!

Just like in winter ice forms over a lake and is perfectly in place to be used as a icing rink. But if you try and ride out its purpose once summer comes, the ice will break from under you and you will fall into the icy water.

In the same way we can become so comfortable on a rock that God wanted us to step onto, that we forget that it was only meant to be used as a stepping stone to our next destination.

I was reading in Exodus 14 when Moses was leading the Israelites out of Egypt and just as they were fleeing they saw Pharaoh and the Egyptians marching towards them. They became so afraid and started crying out in fear because it seemed in the natural that they should have just stayed in Egypt. BUT then the Lord heard them and said to Moses,

'Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving’.
Exodus 14:15.

I'm not going to lie, I laughed out loud when I read this! I thought 'but God you realise you just told them to get moving towards a massive sea that you were somehow going to part for them? Of course they were afraid!'.

But then I realized that this was not the time to give into their fear but take courage! By getting them to move, God had made them shift their focus from what was behind them, to what he was about to do before them.

'But I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.’
Philippians 3:14

Sometimes we don’t always see the very next step God wants us to take. But all God wants is for us to lift our feet up and out of what is comfortable and let him place our feet down where he next wants us to tread.

If we want to go to new levels then we have got to shift our perspective and embrace the new. But that can be a lot harder if we are still sitting in our old vantage point.

God wants to take us higher but that is going to require us to MOVE! So friends it's time to get up out of disappointment, fear and doubt and reposition ourselves to receive what God has waiting for us!

It’s time to SHIFT!
