Mar 26 Shifting the Atmosphere

In case you didn’t know you have the power over every atmosphere you encounter friends. It’s time we stop trying to conform to the environment.

I know I have a habit of trying to make sure everyone around me is comfortable but in doing so we can prevent people from experiencing all that God has for them.

We need to know that when we are in situations where faith is lacking, where there is discouragement, doubt, depression we have the key to shift everything!

Because God lives in us we have the ability to bring hope and peace to everyone we encounter!

‘I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.’
Romans 15:13

I have seen too many Christians minimise the God in them the second they walk out of church. In order to blend in, people compromise what they know to be true.

It's time to stop allowing negativity, gossip, anger or frustration govern the conversation.

‘Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.’
Ephesians 4:29

You have been called to set a new climate friends. You have been sent on assignment to shift the atmosphere and reclaim the thermostat.

When we understand our position in God's kingdom we understand the authority he has given us to bring life, joy and peace into every situation.

Many of us use our personality as an excuse. But friends it doesn't matter if you're not naturally outgoing, confident or bold - you have Holy Spirit in you!

You have everything you need in you to shift the atmosphere!

‘Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.’
Acts 4:13

I know in unfamiliar or uncomfortable environments it’s easy to become timid. In many situations I have allowed negative conversations to continue by remaining silent

But friends often the God in us attracts those that are lost, hurting, fearful. We need to make sure that we don’t get caught up sympathising that we forget our power to pull them out of this place!

We need to elevate their perspective, we need to show them a different narrative!

One where God brings hope and joy, where instead of criticising we start encouraging, where peace comes despite uncertainty!

We have this ability to shift the atmosphere! Your words have power - so don’t stay silent!

‘The tongue has the power of life and death’

It's time to ask for boldness - if only you understood just how valuable your presence is friends! You're not just here to blend in, to go with the flow, you have been called to challenge the status quo!

When you walk in a room, the atmosphere should shift, the devil should run scared!
